The origin
We built bittermelon.ai because great brands were losing customers to AI search invisibility — spending millions on Google SEO while becoming invisible in ChatGPT responses.
In early 2024, growth teams across industries were doing what they had always done — reviewing keyword rankings, tweaking meta-descriptions, investing tens of thousands of dollars a month in traditional SEO. Then we ran a simple test.
We asked ChatGPT: "What's the best tool for [category]?" — the exact query their customers ask every day. Our clients weren't there. Their biggest competitors weren't there either. What showed up were brands that nobody had heard of in traditional SEO circles.
